POOL VICTORIA'S JUNIOR EVENTS

There are three age groups – under 12, under 15 and under 18.  To play in one of these age groups, you must fit into that age group on December 31 of the year that has just passed.  It is OK to turn that age in the current year that you are playing in.  So if you have not turned 12 by December 31 this year, you will be in the under 12s for next year, even if you turn 12 next year.  And the same goes for the under 15s and under 18s.

All of our events are smoke free!!

For a small yearly fee of $5.50 you can be a Junior Member and play in our events at a reduced rate. You will be on a mailing list and will be sent entry forms for all of the events.  All Junior Members and their parent or guardian must sign a Code of Conduct when they join.  A Parent/guardian Consent form must also be signed to play in each event.

Junior State Titles:

Usually played over two days and depending on requests, there might be regional or country elimination rounds as well as in the metropolitan area.  Then all finalists come together at one pool hall in the metropolitan area to play off to be State Champions.

After the State Titles and the Champions are decided, a team of at least 7 players (2 under 12s, 2 under 15s and 3 under 18s) are selected to represent Victoria at the Junior National Championships that are held in March each year.

General Junior Tournaments:

There are at least two each year.  Depending on the number of entries, the age groups might be combined but there will still be trophies for the highest placed players in each age group

Interleague Day:

At least one team of 7 – 10 players is selected to play against teams from our member leagues.

PoolVicHealth Carnival:

This is similar to Interleague Day, but you can also be in a team with friends that are senior members.  There will be up to 4 divisions and up to 10 teams in each division.

Senior Events:

Junior Members can enter the senior State Title events at a discounted price.  These are the Team Selection (Singles), the Singles Championships, the Doubles Championships and the Under 21 Championship.
